Trump on ‘Meet the Press:’ ‘People Have Been Killed, Maimed, Badly Hurt by Illegal Immigrants’ – RedState

Ever notice how the left loves to use the term “papers” when what they really mean is “identification?” That’s because you really can’t manage life in the modern world without some government-issued identification, which for most people takes the form of a state-issued driver’s license or state ID card. But while “identification” sounds innocuous, “papers” conjures up the notion of some bristle-headed secret policeman in a Hugo Boss-designed black uniform holding out his hand and barking, “Papiere, bitte.”

That’s dishonest, of course, and on Sunday, when “Meet the Press” host Kristen Welker tried to deflect the president with the “papers” argument, he quickly steered the conversation back over the target.

Kristen Welker asked:

Should lawful residents of this country start carrying paperwork with them when they leave their homes?

The president replied:

I don’t think that’ll be necessary — but what you’re not saying is that many people have been killed, maimed, badly hurt by illegal immigrants that came over from prisons and from jails, from mental institutions, and they’re hurting our people. And if we don’t get them out, we’re not going to have a country for long. We need honest media. And we need walls. We need to have borders. And, by the way, I built a lot of walls, and if we didn’t do that, we wouldn’t be able to have those – we would not be able to have the kind of numbers if I wasn’t successful in building hundreds of miles of wall.

That’s the real argument to be made; for four years, we have seen unchecked illegal immigration. Millions have poured in, mostly unvetted, unverified, and unknown, and Americans are having to deal with the influx. And, yes, in some cases, these illegal aliens are deadly criminals – just ask the families of Rachel Morin, Jocelyn Nungaray, and Lakin Riley. There are more goblins out there like the ones that murdered Rachel Morin, Jocelyn Nungaray and Lakin Riley – and no, I don’t think we can repeat their names too much – and in most of their cases, we don’t know where these goblins are, what they are doing, or what they may be planning.

Illegal immigrants aren’t just coming in from Latin America, either. There are millions from other parts of the world, including places like Iran and China. This situation packs the possibility of disaster, and we can’t get control of it fast enough.

We should also always remember that this situation is due to the Charlie Foxtrot that was the Biden administration.

President Trump was right to direct this conversation back on topic. But to “circle back” (hah) on Kristen Welker’s question: What the heck is wrong with expecting people to carry some ID?

‘Such a Dishonest Interview Already’—Trump Sits With NBC, and the Media Response Is Utterly Predictable

I’ve traveled extensively and have spent months at a time in foreign countries on a work visa. The one thing that was always understood, in every other country I’ve ever been in, was that I was required to have my passport on me at all times. That’s the usual requirement in any country in which one isn’t a citizen or permanent resident.

You can’t partake in life in the modern world without some kind of identification. Carrying an ID with you isn’t too much to ask.

Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left’s lies, new legislation wasn’t needed to secure our border, just a new president.
