Scott Jennings Has Probably the Best Response Yet to Trump/Elon Feud – RedState

CNN senior political commentator Scott Jennings might have had the best response yet Thursday to the very public Trump/Elon feud taking place over on X.

During his appearance on “The Lead with Jake Tapper,” Tapper spoke with Jennings about what everyone was witnessing and joked about who would get the CNN Senior political commentator in the divorce, President Donald Trump or Elon Musk.

“Let me just tell you what every Republican is doing,” Jennings replied after he grabbed a nearby trash can and proceeded to put his head inside the can.

“Here’s where we are today,” he added, speaking with his head inside the black trash bag, suggesting it was what every Republican was doing as the feud between the two powerful men unfolded for all to see on social media.

“We’re literally, heads are in the garbage can right now,” Jennings continued. “That’s the state of everyone I know at the moment. Not gonna lie. It’s an ugly day, and you know you hate it when your friends are fighting. I continue to believe that their partnership last year saved America, and I also continue to believe their goals are not mutually exclusive.”

The CNN commentator said it is a fact that Trump needs to pass his agenda, and Elon wants to “save America from going bankrupt.”

The online feud seemed to start after Musk decided to speak out against Trump’s reconciliation package, known as the One Big Beautiful Bill.

“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore,” Musk posted on X. “This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”

It wasn’t long after that the CEO of X wrote, “In November next year, we fire all politicians who betrayed the American people.”

But as our sister site Townhall reported, things went nuclear on Thursday when Musk claimed that President Trump is “in the [Jeffrey] Epstein files,” writing on X that “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”

Oh my God, man. OH. MY. GOD. Elon dropped why the Epstein Files haven’t been released. It’s likely BS. The man is crashing out, but dear Lord, dude. The Trump Justice Department has been taking its Time reviewing the documents, many of which were hidden from investigators. Top FBI official James Dennehy, the agent who told his team to ‘dig in‘ when the Trump administration was compiling lists of agents who participated in the January 6 witch hunt. He was allegedly held accountable for concealing the Epstein files. This was dropped without evidence, and the fallout will be unnecessarily destructive. What a mess.

In response, Trump took the high road.

Oh boy. We shall see how this ends.
