I wrote earlier about how the new “Supreme Leader” of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the old leader, shouldn’t be making any long-term plans.
Given the circumstances, both the U.S. and the Israelis have indicated that he’s a legitimate target for a future strike. The U.S. and Israel have already taken out a ton of Iranian leaders, and they’ve decimated a lot of their military capacity.
Indeed, there are reports that the new leader is already in pretty bad condition from a prior strike.
According to reports, the new supreme leader of the regime in Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, is severely injured and is currently on life support in the ICU of the Sina hospital.

Now obviously, it’s hard to confirm such reports, because Iran isn’t going to say.

But he hasn’t been seen in public to accept his new role. As we noted, in a big moment in a square in Tehran where the government had people out to swear their fealty to him, they brought out a picture of him instead, which certainly sparked speculation. It doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in the middle of a battle with the U.S. if you don’t even know if your “leader” is alive. Of course, to be fair, if he is alive, they may not want to be trotting him out knowing that if they do, he could get taken out by the U.S. or the Israelis.
Then what really brought out this moment was this video of another ceremony, where a cardboard cutout was supposedly brought out.

As I said earlier, I can’t confirm it’s real, but it’s certainly hilarious. Is that a promise that the new Supreme Leader’s approach is going to be flat and rigid? Is he a paper tiger?
