Karoline Leavitt Drops the Receipts on ABC Over Their Disgraceful Iran Drone Threat Story – RedState

ABC News ran a report that Iran might be aspiring to conduct a drone attack on targets in California.

Here’s what they said:

The FBI warned police departments in California in recent days that Iran could retaliate for American attacks by launching drones at the West Coast, according to an alert reviewed by ABC News

“We recently acquired information that as of early February 2026, Iran allegedly aspired to conduct a surprise attack using unmanned aerial vehicles from an unidentified vessel off the coast of the United State Homeland, specifically against unspecified targets in California, in the event that the US conducted strikes against Iran,” according to the alert distributed at the end of February. “We have no additional information on the timing, method, target, or perpetrators of this alleged attack.”

Our Ward Clark was skeptical of this claim, and rightly so.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained, ABC left out something rather important, and blasted them into next week.

This post and story should be immediately retracted by ABC News for providing false information to intentionally alarm the American people.

They wrote this based on one email that was sent to local law enforcement in California about a single, unverified tip. The email even states the tip was based on *unverified* intelligence. Yet ABC News left out this critical fact in their story! WHY?

TO BE CLEAR: No such threat from Iran to our homeland exists, and it never did.

Leavitt was aggrieved, and she’s shown in the past that you don’t want to get her angry or she will level you. It helps to be armed with the truth.

Assistant Director for Public Affairs at the FBI, Ben Williamson, backed up Leavitt, and his post showed how disgraceful ABC’s report was. They removed the “unverified” from what the FBI said, changing the actual quote. They also misquote/misspell “United States Homeland.”

Meanwhile, the threat goes everywhere without that proviso. The FBI is going to share it, just in case, with its partners. So why did ABC News print it without the full context? Why would you do that, unless you’re trying to alarm people more than is warranted? This kind of thing helps Iran.

ABC News had better answer up as to why they did this, and issue a big apology/retraction. This isn’t journalism, and it’s harmful.

But once again, we see the liberal media can’t be trusted to report the full truth.

Editor’s Note: For decades, former presidents have been all talk and no action. Now, Donald Trump is eliminating the threat from Iran once and for all.
