Democrats insisting on a legislative recognition of a “Women’s Month” collapsed into a deafening silence that lasted for a long, long time, then abruptly explained the resolution was “over” after a Republican suggested an amendment defining “woman.”
“We know what that is,” explained Rep. Aaron Bernstine, a Republican in the Pennsylvania state legislature.

Speaker Joanna McClinton (D., Philly) called up a non-binding resolution to honor Women’s History Month. State Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R., Lawrence) offered an amendment to define “woman.” After a pause, McClinton said she would skip the resolution. There was laughter on the floor.

Joanna McClinton, House speaker, was running quickly through a list of resolutions and such when she called for Resolution 390 in the 102-100 Democrat-majority body.
It was from Rep. Carol Hill-Evans, a Democrat, and talked about March as “Women’s History Month in Pennsylvania.”
She said it celebrates the accomplishments of women, and complained they “too often go unacknowledged.”
McClinton asked if the House would agree to Resolution 390, and Bernstine was recognized for an amendment.
A report from Fox News explained, “What was expected to be a quick, symbolic vote instead turned into a brief but telling floor moment, with Republicans forcing the question into the open and Democrats opting to shelve the resolution rather than define ‘woman’ in legislation — leading to an eruption of laughter on the House floor.”
Bernstine had explained, “Thank you, Madam Speaker. Madam Speaker, this amendment is very straightforward and clear. It defines what a woman actually is — because we do know what that is. Thank you.”
After a long pause, McClinton said, “The resolution is temporarily over.”
Defining “woman” has become an always-fail topic for Democrats since Joe Biden nominated Ketanji Jackson to the Supreme Court and during her confirmation hearing she was unable to define the word.

Asked to provide that definition, she said, “I can’t.”
Of course, the problem is not defining “woman” but the Democrats’ insistence that men who say they are women have to be considered women, a claim that defies logic, reality and even science.
However, having committed to a transgender ideology, members of the party are unable to respond to such questions without either conceding their bias or losing their base.
