President Donald Trump on Monday resurrected the controversial R-word, specifically “retarded,” claiming North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un referred to former President Joe Biden as “a mentally retarded person.”
Trump’s comments came during a White House news conference in which he expressed frustration with countries that did not help the U.S. conduct Operation Epic Fury against Iran.
“You know who else didn’t help us? Japan,” the president explained. “We’ve got 50,000 soldiers in Japan to protect them from North Korea. We’ve got 45,000 soldiers in South Korea to protect us from Kim Jong Un, who I get along with very well as you know.
“Do you notice, he said very nice things about me. He used to call Joe Biden a mentally retarded person, OK? So, don’t tell me about your stuff. [Of] Joe Biden, he said, ‘He’s a mentally retarded person.’ He was so nasty to Joe Biden, it was terrible. But to me – he likes Trump.”

This is not the first time Trump has used “retarded” to describe a political leader, breaking out the term for a high-profile American who recently ran for vice president.
As WorldNetDaily reported, the president on Thanksgiving Day called Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz “seriously retarded,” and doubled down on that claim, saying there is “absolutely” something wrong with the Democrat governor who has allowed his state to be packed with Somalians.
Aboard Air Force One on a November flight from Palm Beach, Florida, to the nation’s capital, a reporter asked the president: “You mentioned Tim Walz, and you called him what many Americans find an offensive word, retarded. Do you stand by that claim of calling Tim Walz retarded?”
Trump replied: “Yeah, I think there’s something wrong with him. Absolutely. You have a problem with it? I think there’s something wrong with him.”
“Anybody who would do what he did, anybody that would allow those people into a state and pay billions of dollars out to Somalia, we give billions of dollars to Somalia. It’s not even a country because it doesn’t function like a country. It’s got a name but it doesn’t function like a country. Yeah, there’s something wrong with Walz.”
