U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell’s reputation this weekend went even further underwater, if that’s possible, with word that anti-Trump Manhattan prosecutor Alvin Bragg has begun an investigation into allegations by a long list of women about his sexual assaults, and other inappropriate behavior.
WND reported on Saturday how Swalwell said the accusations all were lies, even as he was apologizing to his wife for putting her in that situation.
Then a report from the Washington Examiner confirmed the investigation’s launch.
This while Democrats right and left were abandoning him, and telling him to drop out of the running to be California’s next governor, a race where he’s been leading the leftist Democrat candidates.
Explained the report, “Swalwell was accused of having sex with an ex-staffer in his hotel bed while she was intoxicated, preventing her from giving consent. The alleged incident took place in New York City in April 2024 after she had already stopped working in Swalwell’s office.”
“I was pushing him off of me, saying no,” the unnamed woman told CNN. “He didn’t stop.”
A statement from Bragg’s office revealed, “We urge survivors and anyone with knowledge of these allegations to contact our Special Victims Division at 212-335-9373. Our specially trained prosecutors, investigators and counselors are well-equipped to help you in a trauma-informed, survivor-centered manner.”
The story broke on Friday about a former Swalwell staffer accusing him of assaulting her twice when she was too intoxicated to consent.
“The staffer alleged that Swalwell sent photos of his genitals and asked her for nude pictures in exchange,” the report said.
Then three more women made claims, claims that Swalwell insists are “false.”
Former Rep. Katie Porter, who also is a Democrat candidate for governor, insisted he needs to resign.
“These allegations merit full investigations, and these women deserve the right to pursue justice,” she said. “Too often, men escape any consequence for sexual misconduct by stepping out of power. That is a first and necessary step towards justice because it limits the ability for further harm. I stand with these women as they seek justice.”
Just the News reported both of Swalwell’s campaign managers quit.
Further, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi have called on Swalwell to drop out of the race.
Other action is expected from Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., who is working on a plan to remove Swalwell from the House of Representatives.
Things just got a whole lot worse for Rep Eric Swalwell.
He has been married for nearly 10 years, and this ain’t his wife.
There also appears to be another man right next to the couple, wearing large black Nike shoes and playing on his phone, can’t quite tell for sure.
