It’s pathetic but not surprising to see some of the Democrat/media reactions in the aftermath of the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner (WHCD) shooting that took place Saturday night.
What’s made some of them especially disgraceful, however, was that they were written in the light of day on Sunday and going into Monday, well after it was more than clear who the gunman’s targets were, according to his deranged manifesto: Officials in the Trump administration, and President Trump himself.
For example, there was Democrat House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08), who proclaimed he won’t be lectured to about civility, even though prominent Democrats like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) are elevating America-haters like far-left podcaster Hasan Piker, who has openly advocated political violence against the right.

As we also reported, there was Francesca Hong, the current Democrat frontrunner in the Wisconsin gubernatorial race, who took to X Sunday afternoon to write a thread about how violence was not the answer. Yet towards the end of it, she proceeded to rationalize the escalating violence against the right in part because the Trump administration was allegedly inflicting “political violence” itself on communities with the use of federal immigration agents to crack down on criminal illegal aliens.
To further prove the point that the left and their allies in the press are rapidly trying to shift the focus away from the fact that the alleged attempted assassin appears to be a radical left-wing extremist, we turn to Chuck Todd, the former host of NBC News’ “Meet the Press,” who is now doing his own thing but who hasn’t changed one single bit in his role as a top shelf media apologist for the Democrat Party.
Incredibly, Todd told former CNNer Chris Cillizza in an interview that he will no longer appear at any more Trump events due to not “feeling safe” because “chaos follows [Trump].” But it’s not the left-wing radicals who want Trump dead who scare Todd. It’s Trump himself, because, well, according to Todd, the president brings this on himself:
“I don’t feel safe,” he said. “Chaos follows him.”
“If you decide to go into his orbit, you have become less safe. He does not care about your safety, he’s not going to protect you,” Chuck Todd said. “He’s more likely to throw you under the bus, and have you be the target of Iranian assassins, if you’re John Bolton or Mike Pompeo, and he’s going to pull any sort of federal support.”
“I keep thinking about when somebody using Donald Trump’s words and actions targeted me and a bunch of other members of the press, you know who I didn’t hear from? Donald Trump.”
“The guy doesn’t care when people commit violence in his name, he only cares when violence is committed against him, and he doesn’t see that he is a contributor to the atmosphere,” he said.

It truly takes some chutzpah to try to turn an attempted assassination against the president of the United States into not only a “skirt was too short” rant but also about how the real victims in all of this are not Trump and his cabinet members but the MSM.
Just for grins and giggles, let’s reflect on just a few of the many instances where Todd helped fan the flames and stoked the mobs against Trump, like when he suggested that Trump is mentally unwell during a heated May 2025 debate with Piers Morgan about the media cover-up of Joe Biden’s cognitive decline – a cover-up in which Todd was an active participant:
“Is there a frenzy now, though, Piers? We’ve got a president — if I told you a president doesn’t sleep at night and instead tweets crazy stuff in the middle of the night, would you wonder if there was cognitive decline?”
There was also Todd declaring in an April 2025 podcast that Trump was an authoritarian who was modeling himself after Russian President Vladimir Putin:

Chuck Todd begins the show with a candid assessment of President Trump’s troubled first 100 days, suggesting that Trump’s authoritarian tendencies may stem more from laziness than deliberate strategy.
In a podcast from two months ago, Todd point-blank stated that there were “Echoes Of 1930s Germany In Trump’s Second Term.”
I could go on and on, but I think the point has been made, which is that the real reason Chuck Todd doesn’t want to appear at Trump events anymore is that he feels much more at home at Democrat rallies, where the incendiary rhetoric that ends up inspiring Trump haters to make attempts on his life frequently echoes the hateful rhetoric spouted by Todd himself.
Don’t go away mad, Chuck Todd. Just go away. Seriously. Because this is not a good look. At all.
