The talking points are shifting for Democrat politicians as left-wing rioters continue to attack police and firebomb things in Los Angeles. On Friday and Saturday, false claims that there were “no incidents” were spread as a way to attack the Trump administration for deploying the National Guard. But with overwhelming video evidence of police cruisers being pelted with concrete and set on fire, among many other violent acts, that’s not a lie they can keep up anymore.
Just to give some context, this happened on Sunday.

According to Democrats, it’s authoritarianism to stop this and enforce the law.

There were approximately 17 CHP officers who were trapped and out of non-lethal rounds for over an hour. Many got hit in the head with large rocks (deadly force). pic.twitter.com/kUY9xlJZtk

Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA), who originally blamed Trump for supposedly “escalating” the situation, changed his tune as the Frankenstein he helped create rampaged out of control.
Los Angeles — violence is never the answer. Assaulting law enforcement is never ok.
Indeed, doing so plays directly into the hands of those who seek to antagonize and weaponize the situation for their own gain.
Don’t let them succeed.

There’s a lot to cover there, but can we start with how insanely stupid it is to believe you can reason with the left-wing lunatics currently ravaging Los Angeles? Fundamentally, the cause is never the cause for anarchists. It’s simply a pretext, and there’s a reason you are seeing people waving Palestinian flags next to Mexican flags during this unrest. None of them care about the political optics Schiff is obsessed with. The anarchy is the point.
That’s what makes Schiff’s plea so laughably pathetic. He’s begging his party’s base to behave, as if these violent agitators have in capacity to listen. “Riot season” is a quip on the right because it’s true. This is who the left is, and you can’t put a leash on the alligator. Underneath the surface, these aren’t “anti-ICE” demonstrations. They are Marxist demonstrations. The cause is just what’s convenient on any given day.
Then there’s the implication of Schiff’s post, which is that he only made it when things started to reflect badly on the Democratic Party.
I am begging people to ditch the “violence is bad because of the optics” formulation. It’s not untrue that violence also creates bad optics, but that’s a collateral problem, not THE problem. https://t.co/IUmxt9v75q

It’s good that they’ve stopped pretending nothing violent has happened, but it would be nice if, just once, a politician could say, “don’t riot or attack cops because rioting and attacking cops is bad,” rather than “don’t riot or attack cops because it helps the other party.” https://t.co/zAfmdXLshO

Democrats only care about violence when they think it will cost them elections. At their core, they are fine with it, which is why so many rushed to blame Trump and the ICE agents on the ground for simply enforcing the law instead of immediately denouncing blatant criminality. Yes, the optics have been untenable for Democrats, but that shouldn’t have been the catalyst to speak out.
This is on Schiff and his cohorts. They can try to wriggle out of responsibility by denouncing violence a day late and a dollar short, but we all know their true motivations.
