Conservative podcaster Candace Owens backed out of a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) event that she was invited to join to address her theories about the organization’s late founder, Charlie Kirk.
“The Charlie Kirk Show” producer Blake Neff announced on Wednesday that TPUSA would be addressing Owens’ accusations that the organization “betrayed” Kirk and that she would be “naming names” to support her allegations. Owens initially offered to join the livestream virtually despite the date and time not working for her, but then decided to host her own livestream and respond directly to TPUSA’s remarks.
“December 15th does not work in-person and 2pm PT is also literal time I do my podcast LIVE everyday (which you knew)— but we will happily cancel the daily podcast and will join you guys virtually instead for the livestream on the 15th if that works on your end? Let’s lock it in?” Owens said.

Neff, who previously reported for the Daily Caller News Foundation, later responded on X that Owens has informed him she will not be joining the livestream and that the organization will proceed without her. Owen stated that she looks forward to “providing live responses to your ‘once and for all’ answers.”
Without evidence, Owens alleged that Kirk’s chief of staff, Michael McCoy, knew Kirk was going to be murdered because footage showed he was on a phone call before the shots went off. She also accused him of using a false name and suggested that his wife had helped plan the campus tour event where Kirk died, Neff said in response to the accusations.
Owens also alleged that Kirk’s assassination was an “inside job” and accused TPUSA of “financial impropriety,” Neff said. He further added that Owens’ allegations have involved French paratroopers and the Egyptian military.
Neff disputed all of the accusations made by Owens and added that her allegations have led to harassment worse than that from people who celebrated Kirk’s assassination.
“Candace has effectively tarred everyone here, with complicity in Charlie’s death by repeatedly saying he was, ‘betrayed by everyone.’ She has said Charlie’s murder ‘had to be approved by Charlie’s friends’ and then suggested those friends might have her murdered too, for ‘knowing the truth,’” Neff said. “She’s made claims of financial impropriety and fraud at Turning Point adding up into the millions of dollars, which, again, is not true … What our friends have had to endure is not funny, and it’s not insignificant. It is evil.”
Owens has also alleged that Israel played a role in Kirk’s death.
