Congressman confirms cancellation of plans for new Islam-centric city in U.S. * WorldNetDaily * by Bob Unruh

Islam’s influence in America is being felt in many locations. Dearborn, Michigan, essentially is run by Muslims in the ranks of its city government. There are enclaves in a number of states, including Texas, that are raising alarms because the massive properties are owned by Muslims, run by Muslims, and feature only Muslims to the exclusion of others.

But one such plan has been dropped.

The Daily Caller reports that it got confirmation of the cancellation of plans for an Islamic enclave in rural Texas from U.S. Rep. Lance Gooden.

The cancellation came about because of a Daily Caller investigation into the plans, the report said.

That investigation, along with allegations from residents in the Kaufman County area, charged that the scheme was an illegal attempt to set up a “Sharia city,” and that led Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to affirm the launch of a formal investigation.

Preliminary plans had the “city” accommodating 20,000 foreign nationals, the report said.

Paxton’s announcement revealed that it apparently was a U.S. subsidiary of the Dubai-based company SEE Holding, in connection with Kaufman Solar LLC, that bought thousands of acres near Kaufman.

“The proposed development has been alleged to be for the purpose of creating a ‘sustainable city’ and it’s been noted that as many as 20,000 foreing nationals could be able to move into the new development. Many Texas are concerned that this could be an illegal development designed to be a ‘Sharia city,’” the report said.

Those, Paxton said, won’t be happening in Texas.

“There will be no ‘Sharia city’ in Texas under my watch” he said. “While you’re on American soil, you will obey America’s laws.”

He said an investigation has begun.

A resident told the Daily Caller anonymously just weeks ago that the new community was feared to be a ruse to bring 20,000 Arab residents to the region.

This follows the development of the “EPIC City” around the Plano Islamic Center.

Gooden said after the investigation was launched, developers withdrew their proposal from the county.

“I spoke with them directly within the past 24 hours and advised them to step back and reconsider whether this was the right time and fit for their property. Following that conversation, I’m pleased to announce they’ve decided not to move forward in Kaufman County. This matter is resolved, and there is no cause for continued concern.”

WorldNeDaily reported earlier when Paxton was warned about the Kaufman County events, and begun work to investigate.

At the time, Paxton issued Requests to Examine (“RTEs”) to SEE Holding and Kaufman Solar LLC, seeking documents and communications.

And as WorldNetDaily has previously reported: A Muslim planned community called EPIC City, about 40 miles northeast of Dallas, had its construction temporarily blocked by Gov. Abbott, Attorney General Paxton and U.S. Sen. John Cornyn on April 1, 2025. Then on June 19, Abbott signed a law (HB 4211) restricting radical Islamic “Sharia law” communities, and in October Paxton announced the state’s investigation into EPIC City had turned up “illegal activities” and that Texas would file a lawsuit.

That is one of many such Muslim communities proposed in America.
