Amid an exploding sex scandal, Democrat U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell on Sunday night suspended his campaign for California governor.
“I am suspending my campaign for Governor,” Swalwell wrote on X. “To my family, staff, friends, and supporters, I am deeply sorry for mistakes in judgment I’ve made in my past.
“I will fight the serious, false allegations that have been made – but that’s my fight, not a campaign’s.”
I am suspending my campaign for Governor.

I will fight the serious, false allegations that have been made — but that’s my fight, not a campaign’s.

Swalwell has been under intense pressure this weekend to quit the governor’s race and resign from Congress.
As WorldNetDaily reported, he is being referred to the Department of Homeland Security for potential prosecution for hiring an unauthorized Brazilian nanny, all while being hammered by top members of his own staff amid claims of severe sexual misconduct against four woman, including a former staffer who was allegedly raped twice.

“I went to the bathroom, I don’t remember anything after… flashes of that evening — him on top of me, me pushing him, him grabbing me. It was a lot more aggressive.”

“These allegations of sexual assault are flat false,” Swalwell said in a video posted late Friday night. “They did not happen. They have never happened.”

“I do not suggest to you in any way that I’m perfect or a saint. I have certainly made mistakes in judgment in my past, but those are between me and my wife – and to her I apologize deeply for putting her into this position.”
Hear it directly from me. These allegations are flat false. And I will fight them. pic.twitter.com/bQSlCquD1U

On Saturday, John Nolte of Breitbart News suggested many in the national media are suddenly piling on with anti-Swalwell coverage to force him out of the California governor race, only because it would increase the chance of electing a Democrat to the state’s top job.
“This is the corporate media doing what the corporate media always do,” Nolte wrote.” If you want to understand how the media operate, whenever you see the media do something – anything – ask yourself one question: How does this benefit Democrats? To wit …
The upcoming June 2 California gubernatorial primary is not like other primaries. Instead of one Democrat primary winner and one Republican primary winner facing off in the general election, the top two vote-getters advance to the general election … regardless of party. Now go and look at the polls. As you can see, there’s a very real chance two Republicans could win the primary, which would ensure a Republican becomes governor of California.
Who remembers when Eric Swalwell FARTED on live TV in 2019? That should of ended his career.

“The media and Democrats cannot allow that possibility, so it’s been decided that Swalwell must be sacrificed. His sacrifice will break the three-way tie between the three top Democrats – Swalwell, Katie Porter, and Tom Steyer – and once Swalwell’s 15 percent support moves to the other two, one or both is certain to go on to compete in the general election, which practically ensures Democrats hold onto California’s governor’s seat.
“You see, if Swalwell were polling at 30 percent instead of his current 15 percent, the media cover-up of these allegations would continue because no one would be sweating a Republican sneaking into victory.”
