Donald Trump Takes Back Endorsement of Marjorie Taylor Greene, Does Not Hold Back on Reasons Why – RedState

On Monday, we reported on how President Donald Trump was asked to respond to remarks from GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA-14), where she suggested the president should focus more on domestic policy than foreign policy, because in her view, that’s what an “America First” agenda represented.

Trump stated in response that “I don’t know what happened to Marjorie. She’s a nice woman, but I don’t know what happened. She’s lost her way, I think. But I have to view the presidency as a worldwide situation, not locally.”

Greene’s criticism and Trump’s reaction to it followed months of Greene’s openly expressed disapproval of the United States’ foreign policy moves related to issues like the Russia-Ukraine war and the Israel-Hamas war. She’s also repeatedly noted her frustrations with Republican House leadership on issues including the Epstein files and enhanced ACA subsidies, which she wants renewed

Greene even made an appearance on “The View” on Tuesday, where she was treated like an ally more than a foe by the rabidly left-wing co-hosts. “You’ve gone so right, it’s like you’re on the left now,” co-host Sunny Hostin remarked.

On Friday night, Trump was clearly in “enough is enough” mode, posting the following message on his Truth Social account:

I am withdrawing my support and Endorsement of “Congresswoman” Marjorie Taylor Greene, of the Great State of Georgia. Over the past few weeks, despite my creating Record Achievements for our Country including, a Total and Complete Victory on the Shutdown, Closed Borders, Low Taxes, No Men in Women’s Sports or Transgender for Everyone, ending DEI, stopping Biden’s Record Setting Inflation, Biggest Regulation Cuts in History, stopping EIGHT WARS, rebuilding our Military, being RESPECTED by every Country in the World (as opposed to being the laughingstock that we were just 12 months ago!), having Trillions of Dollars (Record Setting!) INVESTED in the U.S.A., and having created the “HOTTEST” Country anywhere in the World from being a DEAD Country just 12 months ago (and so much more!), all I see “Wacky” Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN! It seemed to all begin when I sent her a Poll stating that she should not run for Senator, or Governor, she was at 12%, and didn’t have a chance (unless, of course, she had my Endorsement — which she wasn’t about to get!). She has told many people that she is upset that I don’t return her phone calls anymore, but with 219 Congressmen/women, 53 U.S. Senators, 24 Cabinet Members, almost 200 Countries, and an otherwise normal life to lead, I can’t take a ranting Lunatic’s call every day. I understand that wonderful, Conservative people are thinking about primarying Marjorie in her District of Georgia, that they too are fed up with her and her antics and, if the right person runs, they will have my Complete and Unyielding Support. She has gone Far Left, even doing The View, with their Low IQ Republican hating Anchors. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Trump also shared a few screengrabs from X of people siding with him on the issue:

While on Air Force One, Trump talked about how if he had taken what he called Greene’s “America Alone” approach, it could have hurt the congresswoman’s home state of Georgia:

On X, Greene has responded by alleging this has to do with texts she sent him on Friday about releasing the Epstein files.

Yashar Ali explained that “The second screenshot is with Natalie Harp, a close aide to the President. Natalie will often respond to people with texts dictated by President Trump directly; you can see in her screenshot that she sent a text to MTG with “THE JEFFREY EPSTEIN HOAX” before MTG replied with her text.”

“I have supported President Trump with too much of my precious time, too much of my own money, and fought harder for him even when almost all other Republicans turned their back and denounced him,” Greene tweeted. “But I don’t worship or serve Donald Trump.”

NBC News seems to think the straw that broke the camel’s back for Trump was a piece they published Friday that focused on interviews they’d done with MTG recently, where she questioned in so many words whether Trump was still the “America First” president:

On Friday night, just hours after this article published, Trump decided he had had enough. He went on social media and said he was withdrawing his endorsement of her.

As for who might challenge Greene in a GOP primary, Trump has indicated he’s already been fielding calls, so I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
