“Swatting” is a terrorist/intimidation tactic in which law enforcement is baited with a false call of a violent crime underway, with the intent that law enforcement will respond overwhelmingly, with possible serious injury or death resulting to the innocent victim. It’s a pernicious and evil tactic, so it’s not surprising that it’s confined to the activist left.
Speaking on Joe Rogan’s podcast in an episode that aired Friday, FBI Director Kash Patel described how this loathsome tactic was applied against him and his home.

In the interview:
Director Kash Patel: As Director of the FBI I have responsibility, I’m not just gonna bring a case because somebody hurt me. They did. And they continue to do it. (Expletive deleted) My house just got swatted yesterday.
Joe Rogan: What?
Director Patel: Yeah. But…
Joe Rogan: You got swatted?
Director Patel: Oh yeah.
Joe Rogan: The head of the FBI gets swatted?
Director Patel: Yeah. These people play… It’s the ultimate height of hypocrisy. They have two sets of rules. One against you, and one for them.
Director Patel’s primary residence is in Las Vegas, which was where the attempt was made. A local news outlet reported:
A swatting call was reported at the Las Vegas home of the director of the FBI on Tuesday morning.
The call was reported at around 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3. The caller claimed an active crime was being committed at a residence, which happened to be the Las Vegas home of FBI Director Kash Patel.
Police reached out to the residence and were able to determine that it was a false call before any response was sent to the home.
Fortunately, the local authorities smelled a rat, and nothing bad ensued. We can’t always count on that. If the left keeps using this tactic, it’s only a matter of time before someone is hurt or killed – and, we ask, what happens then?

The left has been escalating, at least since the summer of 2020, when riots and arson did billions of dollars in property damage and caused several deaths. We remember events like the Weather Underground’s bombing of government buildings in 1969 and 1970; that organization was, of course, led by Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, the same pair that went on to mentor a young Chicago politician named Barack Obama.
But things are escalating. The 2024 campaign season saw not one but two assassination attempts on a former president and current candidate for president. ICE and Homeland Security agents are being greeted by angry mobs when they are carrying out arrests in the course of their lawful duties, and a senior Congressional Democrat has called for doxxing (revealing the identities of) those agents and their families.
There’s just no way this ends well unless the left backs down. But, honestly, at this point, does anyone think they will?
This isn’t about Donald Trump. If Ron DeSantis were president right now, the same vitriol, the same hate, the same threats of violence would be aimed at him. They will be aimed at any Republican member of Congress, any Cabinet member or appointee of a Republican president, and at any Republican president. The radical left will go on like this until forced to stop.
The key question is this: How will that have to happen? There’s an old saying: It takes two to keep the peace, but it only takes one to start a fight. The radical left, right now, seems determined to be the ones who start that fight. They won’t be the ones who finish it.
