It’s been over a month now since the partial Schumer Shutdown began, thanks to Democrats and their refusal to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) over supposed “concerns” about the procedures and tactics used by federal immigration enforcement agents when detaining and deporting criminal illegal immigrants.
In addition to making the homeland more vulnerable to national security threats like the ones we saw play out in states like Michigan and Virginia recently, this has also caused big problems and headaches at airports across the country, where Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees are not getting paid, which has led to staffing shortages and insanely long wait lines for passengers.
Attempts to get DHS funded and end the partial shutdown have gone nowhere thanks to the Democrats’ obsession with protecting criminal illegals at all costs, and we are seeing the very real impacts of that at some of the nation’s busiest airports, the longer the standoff drags on.
For anyone who hasn’t had the misfortune of having to experience these long wait times, here are a few of many examples:
Y’all… I’ve NEVER seen Hartsfield Jackson this bad. This is what security looks like this morning (Friday). We’ve talked to people that got to the airport at 3am that missed their 6am flight. @ATLNewsFirst @GAFollowers pic.twitter.com/xsF5h1N1XG

🚨HOLY CRAP!!!
The Houston TSA line has now stretched to a mind-blowing 150 minute-wait-time and has snaked around the airport, down an escalator and into BAGGAGE CLAIM!!!

Crazy long wait times at @AustinAirport. The line is out the door and people tell our crew there that they’re missing flights left and right. Leave early if you’re flying today!

SHOCKINGLY long lines at Fort Lauderdale International Airport.
Security lines in Fort Lauderdale stretched out the DOOR this morning as Democrats continue to force our patriotic TSA officers to work without pay — for the THIRD time in nearly six months. pic.twitter.com/OEy9PUETnh

3+ hour TSA lines for travelers.
300+ TSA officers who have quit.
A $0 paycheck for those continuing to serve.
Enough is enough.
No more playing politics with the lives of Americans. The Democrat shutdown of DHS must end now. pic.twitter.com/VsHc71TOA9

JUST IN🚨: Major disruption at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) this morning 😳 Several TSA checkpoints (including A-West, C, and F) are temporarily closed due to staffing issues from the ongoing partial gov shutdown. Lines shifting—arrive early! pic.twitter.com/j0zYpyBLPG

Just after 4:30 a.m. at #JFK international airport in New York City. #TSA precheck has longer lines than the regular one. Even before dawn breaks, the continuing travel mess spawned by the partial, government shutdown is apparent. pic.twitter.com/dPGWCChD6l
