Joy Reid, the ex-MSNBC anchor who was fired by the left-leaning network, is now saying the United States is only “marginally better” for women than the Islamic regime in Iran.

“I’m not saying that regime is not bad, but, by the way, our regime is not good,” Reid said during an interview with the One54 Africa podcast.

“Our regime has secret police, they have secret police. Our regime is oppressing women, taking away abortion rights, taking away women’s rights in like 26 states – some states where they’re trying to have the death penalty for having an abortion – they also oppress women.

“They have the highest rate of women who are in STEM careers, we’re kicking women out of the military, out of university, we’re saying that DEI means women can’t be hired for high positions in the sciences.

“So we’re marginally better, and we’re doing it for Christianity, they’re doing it for Islam, right? So it’s like we don’t get told those things because it would take away the kind of American exceptionalism narrative that makes it easy to take our people and send them off to die in a war that we have nothing to do with, that we don’t want.”

Reaction is now pouring in online.

Outkick founder Clay Travis stated: “Joy Reid says women in Iran are better off than women in America. She should move to Iran then. I’m sure she would thrive there.”

“I will pay for the plane ticket,” noted political commentator David J. Freeman, who goes by the online handle of Gunther Eagleman.

“She’s a millionaire who has had countless opportunities to succeed,” said former collegiate swimming champion Riley Gaines. “This level of unironic stupidity is honestly impressive.”

Another indicated: “Not sure she talked to the female Iranian soccer players who face possible execution for failing to sing their national anthem!”

In the same interview, Reid also said she hopes former Vice President Kamala Harris does not seek the White House again.

“I don’t think that the United States is going to elect a woman in my lifetime,” she said, adding if Harris were to run for president, she needs to “take a giant step away from Joe Biden’s Middle East policy.”

“His policies vis-a-vis Israel and Gaza were an abomination and were a stain on his presidency. If she ran again, she would have to repudiate Biden on Israel-Gaza.”
