“The Beast,” a massive mobile land rig thought to be the largest in North America, toppled over while being moved near the ConocoPhillips’ Alpin field in Alaska.

The rig, known as Doyon 26, was on a gravel road when it fell, and a small fire broke out, only to be suppressed immediately.
It is 9.5 million pounds and can drill wells eight miles deep.
No serious injuries were reported.
ZeroHedge said a joint statement from ConocoPhillips Alaska and the North Slope Borough said all workers were accounted for and that no one suffered serious injuries.
The company announced within a day it was moving into “an environmental impact assessment and mitigation effort” and there were plans to recover the structure.
According to the report, “Gov. Mike Dunleavy posted on social media that he had ‘been in contact with ConocoPhillips leadership’ and that there ‘appears to be minimal damage to the environment’ so far.”
The rig was built and operated by Doyon Drilling, a subsidiary of Doyon, an Alaska Native regional corporation.
