One of the reasons I got into political writing was because I witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of the totalitarian, unscientific response of California and other leftist states to the COVID pandemic (I’m looking at you, Gretchen Whitmer). My family was profoundly (negatively) affected, and it’s deeply personal to me.
In the Golden State, it wasn’t all Gov. Gavin Newsom’s fault (although plenty of it was)—there were many other faceless bureaucrats like creepy LA County Health Director “Not a Doctor” Dr. Barbara Ferrer et al. who took away our freedoms in one of the most tyrannical, anti-American episodes in our history.
They locked us in our homes for two years. No school. No hanging out with friends. No barbecues, no paddleboarding at the beach. Many who live in free states like Florida think we’re exaggerating, but they have no idea how far the cult of masking while driving alone went, how profoundly our freedoms were taken from us.
It was like a mass psychosis had taken over the entire West Coast. There was a real “threat to Democracy,” but it wasn’t what CNN was telling you.

It is with some disgust, therefore, that I report that Newsom and his ilk have learned nothing—except that maybe slaking their thirst for power was enjoyable to them—because they want to reprise their COVID-vaccine-mask-industrial complex. Never mind that the pandemic is over, they want to stay on the dance floor and enjoy the spotlight once more.
Newsom posted his Bond-villain type plans to the official governor’s website Wednesday:
Today, California Governor Gavin Newsom, Oregon Governor Tina Kotek, and Washington Governor Bob Ferguson announced they will launch a new West Coast Health Alliance to ensure residents remain protected by science, not politics. The alliance represents a unified regional response to the Trump Administration’s destruction of the U.S. CDC’s credibility and scientific integrity.

I find it laughable that they say they’re relying on “science”—when the opposite is true. The masks they forced on us were proven to be ineffective, as anyone with a modicum of brainpower knew at the time, the six-foot rule was simply made up out of whole cloth, and the vaccines were basically garbage (I don’t need to back that up with a scientific study—I got COVID within weeks of being forced to get the jab. Had to get one to visit a dying relative, or you can be assured I would have said, “eat my grits”).
But here comes Gavin the Savior and Co. once again, flouting actual science and just foisting his extremist views on his subjects:
“President Trump’s mass firing of CDC doctors and scientists — and his blatant politicization of the agency — is a direct assault on the health and safety of the American people,” the three governors said in a joint statement Wednesday. “The CDC has become a political tool that increasingly peddles ideology instead of science, ideology that will lead to severe health consequences.”
Absolutely 100 percent true, the CDC did become a “become a political tool that increasingly peddles ideology”—but that was under Biden, not Trump.
The truth is, Governor, that the CDC utterly disgraced itself during the pandemic with their unscientific garbage output, and that trust may never be restored in our lifetimes.
Newsom and his new leftist buddies, Oregon Governor Tina Kotek and Washington Governor Bob Ferguson, have no business lecturing us on health when they so thoroughly debased themselves and sold out their citizens during the Wuhan Flu era. They talk a big game, but they have been repeatedly shown to be dishonest, power-obsessed, and pathetically ineffective.
Sometimes, humor can sum up a situation in a way that articles and videos can’t, and this guy hits the issue directly on its head:
