Failed vice presidential candidate and current Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, escalated his war of words against President Donald Trump on Saturday, telling Democrats to “bully the ****” out of the current president while labeling him a “dictator.” The tough talk was the latest in a series of rhetorical attacks by Walz, who is desperate to draw attention to his middling 2028 presidential hopes.
The comments came during the South Carolina Democratic Party’s state convention.

WALZ: Because I call Donald Trump a wannabe dictator. It’s because he is. It’s because he is. Oh, the governor’s being mean, and the governor’s speaking out on that. Maybe it’s time for us to be a little more fierce. Because we have to seriously push back on this, and again, I’ll speak to my teacher colleagues in here. The thing that bothers a teacher more than anything is to watch a bully, to watch this bully, and to stop it. And when it’s a child, you tell them why bullying is wrong. But when it’s an adult like Donald Trump, you bully the **** out of him back. You push back.
I don’t know which adviser told Democrats that awkwardly cussing makes them seem cooler and more relatable, but it was bad advice. This faux tough guy act is like nails on a chalkboard to normal people. Worse, it completely misses the point of why Trump and the Republican Party swept the election in 2024.
When voters went to the polls, they were not enamored with “bullying.” They were reacting to the failed policies of the Biden administration and the Democratic Party as a whole. No one was sitting around thinking, “You know, my life would be made better if Tim Walz would just say the s-word more.” What the governor is indicating, though, is that he believes a change in tone will fix his party’s issues. Further, the idea that Democrats aren’t already “pushing back” and using heated language is ludicrous. They spend every day hyperventilating over Trump in new and ridiculous ways.
Trying to out-bully Trump has been tried over and over. It does not work. On the contrary, he prefers his opponents to get in the mud with him. Is Walz truly dumb enough to think he can be the guy to take the president head-on? Of course, the other possibility is that he’s mentally ill. What other explanation is there for this assertion?
Walz paired the combative rhetoric with a call for Democrats to reach out directly to conservative voters. He said the party in 2024 focused too closely on seven swing states and ignored conservative strongholds like South Carolina, Texas and Florida.

Republican rule has hurt people in South Carolina, Texas, and Florida? Was he high when he said that? Florida, for example, is the most successful state in the union right now by nearly every metric. Walz would be laughed back across the state line if he tried to take his “message” and “policies” there. There’s no popular support in red states for Minnesota governance, which amounts to social justice garbage leading to higher crime and economic malaise.
The hard truth is that Americans don’t like Democrats because of what they do. They lived under four years of left-wing dictates gone wild, and no amount of cussing and “bullying” is going to make people want to repeat that. Walz is delusional, but he’s not alone. Most Democrats have given up on real introspection and have instead fallen right back into the traps that led to their defeat. Still, the Minnesota governor’s shadow presidential run is especially hilarious. I hope he keeps it going.
