Alina Habba, a loyalist to President Donald Trump who defended him personally, is stepping down from the post as the top federal prosecutor in New Jersey.

The announcement came after an appeals court a week ago claimed that Pam Bondi, the U.S. attorney general, has not properly appointed her.

But there’s already talk of her return.

Bondi announced Monday Habba is taking a post as a senior adviser, overseeing U.S. attorneys, while three Department of Justice officials are set to take on additional jobs overseeing various activities in the New Jersey court district in the wake of Habba’s resignation, Fox News Reported.,

Online investigator reporter Nick Sortor explained, “BREAKING: After activist judges made it nearly IMPOSSIBLE to do her job as U.S. Attorney for NJ, Alina Habba has resigned BUT: The Department of Justice will continue to FIGHT for Alina, and when they win, Alina will retake her post, per AG Bondi In the meantime, she’s joining the DOJ to become Senior Advisor to the Attorney General for U.S. Attorneys. You’ve not seen the last of Alina Habba!”

Fox reported she was Trump”s personal defense lawyer before the president installed her this year as the temporary head of the New Jersey office.

When her temporary post expired, the administration tried to return her to the post but the appeals judges vetoed that plan.
