RedState brought you the live results of the special election in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District on Tuesday. The race was necessitated by Marjorie Taylor Greene’s decision to vacate the seat.
The good news is that it’s a solidly red district. The bad news is that 17 Republicans decided to vie for the seat (along with three Democrats, a Libertarian, and an Independent), so that virtually guaranteed a runoff.

And that’s now been borne out: With 85 percent of the vote counted, Republican Clay Fuller (the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit DA), who was endorsed by President Trump, has 35.1 percent of the vote, while Georgia Democrat Shawn Harris has 37.2 percent. Since neither looks to top 50 percent, that means there will be a runoff between Fuller and Harris on April 7.

The other saving grace for the Republicans is that the remaining Rs in the field have about 22 percent of the vote combined. If Republicans show up on April 7 in similar fashion, that should secure a win for Fuller handily.
Of course, that means…Republicans need to show up on April 7. And it also means that had there not been such a diluted field to begin with, Fuller likely could have won Tuesday’s race outright.
The takeaway here is: If you know Republicans in Georgia’s CD-14, make sure they know to get out and vote on the 7th.
