Trump ends use of human fetal tissue in federally funded research * WorldNetDaily * by Bob Unruh

Long have various scientists, including those funded by the federal government, demanded access to the body parts of unborn babies for their various health research projects.

No more.

President Donald Trump’s administration is ending the use of human fetal tissue in all federally funded research arenas.

“NIH is pushing American biomedical science into the 21st century,” National Institutes of Health chief Jay Bhattacharya said. “This decision is about advancing science by investing in breakthrough technologies more capable of modeling human health and disease. Under President Trump’s leadership, taxpayer-funded research must reflect the best science of today and the values of the American people.”

A report from the Daily Wire explained the NIH, effective immediately, no longer will allow its funds to be used for research projects that involve the fetal tissues of aborted infants.

All NIH grants, cooperative arrangements, transaction awards, development contracts, and research projects are included.

The pro-life movement in America long has sought such an action acknowledging the dignity of the unborn, whose pieces parts long have been sold by abortionists and bought by researchers.

The NIH’s ruling now means it will “not fund any research involving tissue from aborted babies,” the report said.

The announcement comes just a day before the annual March for Life in Washington.

Funding for such projects actually already has been declining, and the report noted during Fiscal Year 2024 only 77 projects using human fetal tissue were approved.

Bhattacharya told Daily Wire editor emeritus Ben Shapiro the use of human fetal tissue from aborted babies has sparked arguments for years, putting “a large part of the population” in an ethical quandary.

Tech is answering, he said.

“Now that there is better technology, there’s no scientific harm to this, we’re still going to be able to use the science we need … while at the same time getting rid of this use of aborted fetal tissue which so many people, including me, find morally abhorrent,” he said.

He said donation of tissue, such as from a miscarriage, is allowed, but what is not is having an abortion and then selling the tissue.

The tissue industry was revealed to all during 2015 and 2016 when undercover pro-life activist David Daleiden, the head of the Center for Medical Progress, posted online a long list of videos showing how abortionists saved aborted-baby body parts for resale.

One abortionist joked about raising her fees for the parts because, “I want a Lamborghini.”
