Ed Martin, a pardon attorney and head of the Department of Justice’s weaponization task force, is launching an official investigation into former President Joe Biden’s pardons issued in the waning days of his failed presidency.
This, according to an email sent to staff on Monday.
Martin will delve into the question of whether or not Biden “was competent and whether others were taking advantage of him through use of AutoPen or other means,” according to the message obtained by Reuters.
The focus of the bombshell investigation will be on the sweeping pardons granted to members of the Biden family. It will also encompass the 37 individuals who had death row sentences converted to life in prison.

Joe Biden, roughly 48 hours before Donald Trump was sworn in as President for the second time, issued preemptive pardons on a “full and unconditional” basis for his family members – James B. Biden, Sara Jones Biden, Valerie Biden Owens, John T. Owens, and Francis W. Biden – backdated to 2014.
He did the same for Hunter Biden a month earlier.
The then-outgoing President also commuted the sentences of 37 of the 40 prisoners on federal death row. The sweeping series of pardons and commutations was concerning, having been issued by a man who six months earlier had been exposed as seriously cognitively impaired on the debate stage.
With the exposure of the cover-up of Biden’s mental incapacities in recent weeks, worries that somebody may have used the autopen to issue the pardons in his stead have mounted.
Martin recently revealed that he has been speaking with a whistleblower, naming those potentially involved in wielding the autopen on Biden’s behalf.
“I had a whistleblower in my office 10 days ago — senior, senior Democrat — saying, ‘Look, it was these three people that controlled access, and they were making money off of it,'” he told journalist Mark Halperin.
Martin noted that he had yet to corroborate the whistleblower’s claims, but did mention three “gatekeepers” who were “using the access” to their advantage – Former White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain, Biden’s Senior Advisor Anita Dunn, and former personal attorney for Barack Obama, Robert Bauer.
The DOJ official proceeded to name two others he describes as “dominant characters” during that time: Steve Ricchetti, former Counselor to President Biden, and “obviously Jill (Biden).”
Critics have also speculated that Hunter himself was likely controlling things behind the scenes.
CNN anchor Jake Tapper, whose new book pretends to expose the White House cover-up of Biden’s mental decline, has suggested the scandal might be “even worse than Watergate in some ways.”
If the country were run by someone behind the scenes wielding the autopen for months, if not years, as opposed to the actual President of the United States, then, yes, it’s probably the biggest scandal in modern political history.
And it went beyond pardons. A government watchdog last week raised red flags after conducting a review of significant executive orders signed by autopen under the previous administration and finding “no evidence” that Biden was even aware of them.
The group analyzed multiple executive orders involving climate policy dating back to 2021 and, according to their Executive Director, found “no evidence that Biden ordered it, directed it, or was even aware it was happening in his name.”
Who was running the country the past four years? There needs to be Watergate-level public hearings, with witnesses testifying under oath, about what really happened under the Biden presidency.
