Zohran Mamdani Touts His ‘Racial Equity Plan’ for NYC — What Could Go Wrong? – RedState

We’ve seen this movie before: legalized discrimination hiding behind phrases like “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” and “ensuring equitable outcomes.” What those ideas have repeatedly been shown to be in practice is an effort to favor certain “disadvantaged” people at the expense of the so-called “privileged” class.

President Donald Trump has fought against these efforts since his first day back in office when he signed his executive order, “Ending Radical And Wasteful Government DEI Programs And Preferencing,” and has tried to rid the federal government of prejudiced policies.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, however, isn’t interested in removing bias from our system; he’d rather promote it. On Monday, the democrat socialist released his sinister, Marxist-sounding “Preliminary Citywide Racial Equity Plan.” While Americans are definitely struggling with affordability, the answer is not to stack the decks in certain groups’ favor, which is certainly what it sounds like he’s intending to do:

Mamdani’s office explained in a press release that the preliminary report, which the mayor had promised to release within 100 days in office, shows racial disparities in areas like housing, education, and income, and the new plan aims to “establish a new framework for how New York City measures affordability, understands inequity and plans for a more equitable future.”

“The True Cost of Living Measure offers an honest account of what it actually costs to live in this city and who is being left behind. It shows that this is not a crisis affecting a small minority of New Yorkers. It is a crisis touching the vast majority of our city, in every borough and every neighborhood,” Mamdani said in the press release.

Hoo boy. If that doesn’t sound like a statement saying, “We’re going to tax the life out of every prosperous New Yorker, pick winners and losers, get rid of capitalism, and replace it with a socialist utopia,” I don’t know what does.

Mamdani may have a Cheshire Cat-like grin, but he doesn’t seem to be aware that almost every communist-socialist society attempted in history has been a miserable failure.

Department of Justice Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division Harmeet Dhillon — who is rumored to soon be promoted to Associate Attorney General — had thoughts:

Dhillon wasn’t the only conservative voice to note that Mamdani basically just said he wants to practice discrimination:

Mamdani says “black and brown New Yorkers are hit the hardest” by the affordability crisis and that his racial equity plan will be a “whole of government approach” to solve “decades of neglect and discrimination.” He says “it places the work of 45 city agencies within a singular framework.”

The reality is Mamdani is implementing blatantly racist policies that reward and punish people based on their skin color.

Whoever becomes the new U.S. Attorney General needs to immediately prosecute Mamdani for his clearly discriminatory and unconstitutional governing.

Mamdani has been every bit as bad as we thought he’d be, and so much more. Harmeet Dhillon and whoever replaces Pam Bondi as attorney general will need to keep the heat on this extremist, because apparently, he’d love to turn the Big Apple into a giant urban version of Cuba.
