A purple-haired member of Congress, Rep. Rosa DeLaura, D-Conn., has used the scheduling of a hearing in Congress to melt down over the idea of raw milk.
That would be milk that has not been pasteurized or homogenized and is advertised on Amazon and at Target and Walmart, at least.
Until the mid-1900s when various processes were developed to kill natural bacteria in milk, it was the only milk available, and came from cows, goats, sheep, buffalo and even camels, and used in cheese, yogurt and ice cream.
I’ve never seen someone get so worked up over raw milk
Also, I could be wrong, but I’m not sure that’s her natural hair color https://t.co/m9gWt9P8k0 pic.twitter.com/kgzWEGnipG

DeLauro ranted, “If I were the head of HHS, I would by God say don’t drink raw milk. It is dangerous to your health, and if you can’t say that well maybe there’s some other conclusions that can be drawn.”
While many consider raw milk healthy, it can have bacteria, yeasts and molds, removed by the pasteurization process that heats milk to at least 161 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 seconds.
Or it can be heated to 145 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes.
The methods mainly keep milk fresh for 2-3 weeks.
The ridicule online was … extensive!
Comments were:
“Nothing natural here, we promise.”
“She looks like somebody that’s careful to only eat Processed ‘Food.’”
One said, “In nature, poisonous creatures will often develop bright colors to warn others of their toxicity.”

And, “Someone please get a hold of seasame street … one of their muppets has escaped!”
“I’ve been drinking raw milk most of my 72 years on the planet … so far so good.”
“All she’s missing is a coat made from Dalmatians.”
