The popular Fox News show “The Five” erupted in fierce fashion Wednesday with several members of the cast screaming loudly at each other when asked one simple question.
The question was why liberals should care if non-liberals happen to like President Donald Trump.
“Because he’s completely like a morally bankrupt person,” said the left-leaning co-host Jessica Tarlov. “Care leads to voting, and then voting leads to bad policies that make life harder.”
“Why can I not be a friend of yours if you like Trump?” Greg Gutfeld asked Tarlov.
Tarlov noted: “If he was your friend, I’d be much more chill about it, but because you like him, he’s my president.”
Jesse Watters jumped in to say, “I think she’s misdiagnosed it. It has nothing to do with morality. You don’t care about morality! The party doesn’t support standards of morality. You can do drugs, you can be homeless, you can hit people, rape people, let other murderers into the country. You can do all kinds of things. They don’t judge!”
“They’re gonna let the Son of Sam out of jail!” exclaimed former New York City police detective Paul Mauro, another co-host of the show. “The Son of Sam, for the love of God!”
Watters added, “You guys apologized to a guy who tried to shoot the president,” referring to the federal magistrate who this week apologized to suspected would-be Trump assassin Cole Allen for his conditions in jail. “Go talk to Bill Clinton about morality.”
Tarlov retorted: “You guys got evangelicals to support a guy who’s cheated on every single wife that he’s had.”
“But who cares if I like him?” Gutfeld asked.
“I said I don’t care! I have accepted it!” Tarlov screamed in shrill fashion.
Gutfeld continued: “Why do liberals care that we like him? It’s because they cannot get themselves emotionally out of the way, and it bothers them. They know that they might be wrong. The sum cost of hating somebody rips you apart.”
Tarlov claimed: “It’s because it has a lot of world consequences.”
“Not everybody thinks that way,” Gutfeld responded. “We don’t walk around and go, ‘What’s the polling say?’”
