Somali interpreters accompany migrants to polling places, DOJ investigating * WorldNetDaily * by Bob Unruh

Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, has expressed alarm over evidence that confirms “aides” and “interpreters” have been accompanying Somali immigrants into voting booths to “help” them vote.

And the Department of Justice now is looking into the scheme.

A report at the Daily Mail confirmed Collins expressed being “troubled” by the situation, including the fact that the “aides” could very well be telling the immigrants for whom to vote.

“Certainly only Americans should be voting in American elections. It is troubling to me if people are being accompanied into voting booths and handling ballots in a way that is not sanctioned by law,” she said.

Allegations are that multiple “aides” have been helping individuals, even though state law allows only one person to assist.

The allegations that Somali translators were helping migrants vote were put forward by The Maine Wire, which claimed to witness several elderly Somali people being ushered through polling places.

According to reporters at the polling booths, the translators are known to escort voters, run buses from housing complexes to polls, and allegedly instruct them on how to vote, the report charged.

Lewison, where the events were filmed, has one of the highest Somali populations in New England.

Reports also confirmed the DOJ was reviewing footage of the concerning events.

“Maine law says translators cannot approach unasked, cannot influence the choice, and cannot touch the ballot,” reports confirmed.
