A tech company is coming under fire for offering an AI-generated “Jesus” folks can talk to for a mere $1.99 a minute.
The firm Just Like Me created the service using an image of the Savior the company says was modeled after “The Chosen” actor Jonathan Roumie. Here’s a sample of the technology:
Tech Company ‘Just Like Me’ has launched AI Jesus, which people can talk to or pray with for $1.99 a minute, and whose look was based on Jonathan Roumie, the actor who plays Jesus on the tv show ‘The Chosen.’

The AI Jesus encourages the questioner to name three blessings each morning, acknowledging that each new day is “a gift from the Creator.”
Reaction online was swift.
“This is a device of Satan hatched out of hell.”
“No one comes to Father except through me, and you can do it today for just $1.99 a minute.”
“Gross! I talk to Jesus directly with no app between us.”
One commenter joked, “I don’t think the real Jesus blinks that much.”
Others quoted Bible verses to combat the AI service, such as the Second Commandment: “You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath … You shall not worship them or serve them.”
Remarked X user Tim Burns, “There is no substantial difference between this and the golden calf made at the base of Mount Sinai.”
The company also offers the opportunity to pay for a conversation with the late Charlie Kirk or Santa Claus.
